Enclosure Testing Services

From windows to roofs, one source for enclosure testing

Curtainwall, Window & Skylights

A single source for fenestration testing, from new products to field installations

Transitions to windows, storefronts, and curtain wall are where enclosures most often leak air and water, and the failure usually traces back to how the assembly was tested before it went in. G&W provides fenestration testing across new products, mock-ups, and field installations, so performance is confirmed at each stage rather than assumed. We test to recognized AAMA and ASTM methods and report results clearly enough to act on.

FIELD & LAB TEST STANDARDS

Air & Weather Barrier Testing

Verifying the barrier is continuous, from mock-up through field install

Air and weather barriers only work if they are continuous. Ensuring this continuity is carried from the drawings to the installation is critical. G&W validates barrier installations from pre-construction and mock-ups through field verification, checking the points where continuity typically breaks down. We identify problems while they are still correctable, before the wall is closed up.

TEST STANDARDS

Electronic Leak Detection

A modern way to confirm waterproofing before it is covered

Waterproofing failures are expensive because they are usually found long after the membrane is buried under an overburden or finish. Electronic leak detection locates breaches while repairs are still simple, on plaza decks, balconies, roof decks, and terraces. G&W performs testing to ASTM D7877 and D8231 as a DETEC-certified scanning firm. ELD pinpoints breaches on site, without the guesswork and wait time of flood testing, so repairs happen immediately and the schedule keeps moving.

TEST STANDARDS

Roof Testing

Confirming the roof is sound before and after it goes into service

A roof can fail in ways that are invisible from the surface, from trapped moisture to inadequate uplift resistance. G&W tests roofing systems on plaza decks, balconies, roof decks, and terraces using methods matched to what the roof needs to prove.

TEST STANDARDS

Forensic Investigation

Tracing leaks and moisture to their source when a building is already in service

Water rarely shows up where it gets in. It travels along framing, sheathing, and flashings, so the visible damage is often far from the actual breach. Too often repairs get made on opinion, or on the need to do something visible. G&W investigates using a structured process built on ASTM E2128 and AAMA 511, combining thermal imaging, nondestructive moisture scanning, and targeted water testing that recreates the reported failure. The goal is to isolate the true path of entry, so repairs address the cause instead of the symptom.
